About

I’m currently a true crime podcast producer because no one wanted me as a science reporter. I also worked as reporter an NPR station in western Kansas. I used to be an MD-PhD student at Emory University interested in basic science mechanisms of addiction and psychiatric disease, who ended up researching songbirds and working for a year in Japan and studying neural stem cells. I took an opportunity to work at the Gimlet podcast Science Vs, loved it, and ended up dropping out of school to pursue audio.

I enjoy working out, eating out, and rocking out. Podcasts, weird art, and comedy are my jams. I wish I could go rock-climbing every day, but KS is too flat and lame.

I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it to keep up with this blog. If you like it, please follow me on twitter and share posts whenever it’s convenient. Also, if there are any topics you’d like for me to cover please send me an email about them.
